 Unsere Fahrt nach Deutschland war fantastisch: die wunderbare Herbststimmung brachte Farbe in eintönige Strecken. Wir fuhren durch Dörfer und Städte – wo man uns nicht selten mit eigenartigen Blicken bedachte... Renés Gepäckkonstruktionen hielten auch. Campiert wurde an einem Seitenarm der Donau, wo wir zum Sonnenaufgang herrliche Spiegelbilder und Vögel bewundern konnten.  Bei unserem Endurotraining schien glücklicherweise die Sonne, da die Schlammdurchfahrten schon so ziemlich schwierig waren für den Anfang. Allerdings blieben kleinere Stürze nicht aus – so dass unsere Motorräder nach dem Training das dazugehörige Design hatten.  Es war ein sehr lehrreicher Tag den wir keinesfalls missen wollen (ich habe das Gefühl, dass wir das Gelernte wohl unterwegs ein-zweimal brauchen werden)...  Dresden hielt in dieser Woche ein besonders interessantes Erlebnis für uns bereit: eine Werksführung beim Reifenhersteller Heidenau. Das diese Reifen wirkliche Qualität verbergen, wird einem erst bewusst, wenn man die viele Handarbeit und die Einzelteile sieht, die es zur Herstellung braucht. Wirklich erstaunlich. Wir hatten z.B. bis dahin nicht gewusst, dass ein Reifen Ruß enthält und in riesigen Backformen gebacken wird! Wir sind sehr dankbar für Heidenau`s Engagement für unsere Reise und möchten noch einmal „Danke“ sagen ans „Vorzeigewerk Sachsens“. Die ham einfach nüscht zu verschteckn... Mittlerweile sind unsere Umzugskisten gepackt, fast alle Schränke zerlegt und das übliche „Umzugschaos“ tobt in unserer Wohnung. Bereits in 6 Tagen ist unser letzter Arbeitstag – der Countdown läuft.... |

Where`s the time? Recently we had all time in the world and now the moments of saying goodbye are too close: on October 28 we`re saying “goodbye Switzerland”, on November 12 our Motorbikes are leaving Germany and two days later we`re saying “bye” – for how long? However we`ve done a lot until this time: the most important of all is that Monique passed her practical driving-licence test and has done it after four and a half month after her first drive! She already drove 5000km on her Honda. We`re glad that the way for our journey is open now…. Furthermore our alu-boxes are closed to be finished – whether all things are propberly fixed we`ll find out the next days. René deseves a big commendation! Time seems to run within the last weeks – shipping of the bikes must be organized, our move from Switzerland to Germany be done and many departments are waiting for our visit. Despite the fact that we don`t have our boxes properly fixed on the bikes until now our FIRST DRIVE to Germany (1600kms) will start within 4 days. We`re excited how it would be – first time on the road full packed and we hope that we get all our stuff transported! A next highlight is our Endurotraining in Germany… It would be dusty, dirty, muddy – however – in every case an superb experience! Afterwards we`ll load up our fist on-the-road pics. In exactly 2 months our journey is starting! We wish a nice autumn and we`re glad about every entry in our guestbook and about every email! |

05-05-09 We are ready now - we received our brand-new motorcycle clothes in a big box thanks to our great sponsor iXS (see sponsor-list)! Yesterday we celebrated early christmas with a hugh amount of jackes, motorcycling pants, gloves, high-tech underwear...  The swiss countryside along the motorcycling streets is exploding in yellow and violet. Last weekend we drove 300km and we agreed about the fact that learning motorcycling in Switzerland isn`t that worse :o) Monique did her first full-breaking in front of a zebra-crossing. It was her 6th day on a motorcycle... all things were O.K. Next weekend she`ll have her fisrt driving-lesson. Let`s see what happens... |

Finally started!
Yesterday the moment was there: Monique drove her first meters on her Honda and did that quite well :o) On the street it wasn`t that secure, but for the beginning it was really good and created a long-lasting smile. Nice thing, such a motorcycle! René will receive an “outstanding” as teachter – every time calm and easygoing. That`s it.
We`ll hold you updated. Here some Pictures of the first ride in life on a motorcycle on an airfield, close Frutigen (CH).

We are ready! One of the main points in our „preparation-list“ is past: yesterday we drove our 2 motorcycles in heavy rain home. A really good feeling to know that we made this step.
Unfortunately Renés Ténéré made some problems: the kick-starter doesn`t want to do his work and the machine didn`t start this morning (battery empty). This was the reason why our happiness didn`t last that long. But: Monique made her fist excercises for preparing the first ride on her Honda and WAS happy…
